Ice cream franchise New Zealand Natural is branching out beyond the humble cone for a new experimental ice cream pop-up. Opening this Friday 3 February in the former Louis Vuitton Viaduct store, MELT will serve ice cool dessert as you've never seen it before.

Forget ice cream sandwiches, the parlour is the doing the unthinkable and fashioning made-to-order ice cream burgers. The treats will feature any combo of ice cream and sauce between sweet brioche buns. French macarons will also be reimagined, sandwiched with one of the 22 New Zealand Natural flavours on hand. Between classic menu items like milkshakes and scoops, there will be eccentric rotating specials like ice cream tacos, ice cream eclairs and a take on the classic Affogato.

To celebrate the opening, 50 ice cream burgers will be given away to lucky customers from 11am. Artist Andrew J Steel will also be on hand to finish the final panel of his instore artwork.

MELT is located at 137 Quay Street. The pop-up is open seven days a week, from 10am to late. For more information, visit www.meltnznatural.co.nz.
