Overview

Folk songstress Nadia Reid is bringing her cathartic sound to Wellington's Meow as part of her national tour this June.

Reid hails from Port Chalmers, developed her musical talent in Christchurch and is comparable to songstresses Beth Orton and Laura Marling. She has released two EPs so far and there is no doubt that there is more to come, having already accomplished several national tours.

One of her tracks, 'Rise And Fall', was featured in the Christchurch Earthquake Film, When A City Falls. This was written when Reid was only 17, and was followed up four years later with her critically acclaimed EP, Letters I Wrote And Never Sent. Music writer, Martin Pepperell described Reid's music as, "...about relationships, but not strictly relationships of romantic love, [but] also relationships with friends, places, events and ideas."
