Kiwi indie-pop band the Ruby Suns are back in town to promote their latest album Christopher.
The bands fourth full length album has a distinct 80s dance pop sound and is loaded with light synth melodies . The suns front man Ryan McPhun has worked closely with A-list engineer Chris Coady (Beach House, Grizzly Bear, Gang Gang Dance) to create a dreamy dance floor delirium.
Having spent an entire winter in Norway, McPhun drew inspiration from the majestic icy landscape and the local gloss-pop scene. Christopher's opening song "Desert of Pop" has been dubbed the years, if not the decades, finest pop song.
