Overview

Architectural design meets interactive performance in experimental design collective Oh.No.Sumo's newest work, Stairway Cinema.

Oh.No.Sumo was established in Auckland in early 2009 and started as a creative outlet for four friends graduating from the University of Auckland's architectural school. It soon transformed into a design collective exploring many avenues of design and creative work. Their work has been very well received and they won two awards at the annual Design Institute of New Zealand Awards 2011.

This latest architectural feature will take over the public realm of the street in front of  St Paul Street Gallery. By engaging with passers-by, Stairway Cinema will create free public entertainment and social space drawn from the existing properties of the gallery building.

Oh.No.Sumo members are James Pearce, Patrick Loo, Katherine O’Shaugnessy and Sarosh Mulla.
