You Can Get Your Hands on Fix and Fogg's New Cookie Butter Again After a Record-Breaking Sell Out

You can pour it over waffles or ice cream, or just release your inner cookie monster and spoon it straight out of the jar.

Fix and Fogg is giving fans much to be hyped about in recent years. The peanut butter specialists hit headlines with their self-proclaimed "world's spiciest" peanut butter earlier this year and the launch of a monthly peanut butter subscription. Now they're capitalising on the chokehold that speculoos cookie-flavoured goods currently have on the country — and the world — with the launch of a new speculoos cookie-based Cookie Butter. What is it, you may ask? Well, it's exactly what it says on the tin (jar) — 275g of crushed up speculoos cookies.

If your Instagram feed has also been filled with videos of people pouring Biscoff spread on toast, or double-scoop Duck Island speculoos ice cream flying out the door, you'll know that it's the 'it' flavour of the moment. But speculoos has been around for a long time — the start of the 17th century in fact. Originating from Belgium, the speculoos cookie tastes a bit like a cross between a caramelized shortbread and gingernut biscuits — and lends itself extremely well to sweet treats.

Now you can enjoy that speculoos cookie goodness with this new product from the Kiwi brand that makes what New York magazine dubbed "the best nut butter on the planet". In the interests of full transparency, the new cookie butter actually launched earlier this month but sold out in a record-breaking time — 1000 jars in just three hours. So yeah, you could say people are excited about it. Now it's back finally back in stock online and on shelves nationwide, so you can grab it at your local Farro, Pak'n Save, New World or Moore Wilson's.

Interestingly, it was for the US market that the cookie butter was developed. Fix and Fogg was asked by US supermarket chain Whole Foods to make the treat, which is also non-GMO, free from palm oil, and — wait for it — vegan. It's also the first Fix and Fogg product without nuts, indicating a branch out in the product line for the PB specialists. Watch this space.

And if you're looking to try it in all its forms, it will be served atop the new hot cacao bircher bowls Fix and Fogg are slinging out of their Eva Street window during the colder months. Think hot, oaty goodness topped with granola, banana and a hefty slug of cookie butter. Go try it immediately Wellingtonians, and grab yourself a jar or two to takeaway.
