Snap the Biennale Before It’s Too Late
A convict opera, a communist mausoleum, a shouting choir and a toy rock band - these are just some of the events which have featured in the 17th Biennale of Sydney: The Beauty of Distance. Spicing up the Sydney artscape since 12 May, the 2010 Biennale has featured works by some of the world's most exciting artists at some of the city's leading venues such as the MCA, Cockatoo Island and Artspace. Including an exciting program of free activities for both adults and children, the festival has managed to turn the winter chill into an unexpected pleasure.
To celebrate the contribution it has made in the fields of art, film, music and performance arts, the Biennale of Sydney now turns the focus onto you, the audience. You are invited you to submit your photographs of the festival which capture a favourite piece or moment and answer the question What's beautiful to you in the 17th Biennale of Sydney? Upload a maximum of 5 pictures to the dedicated Flickr page by 3rd September for your chance to win a Crumpler prize pack worth $500.
If you forgot your camera at home when you went, or are in need of a little more inspiration, or simply haven't been able to check it out yet, then there's still time, just. Closing on 1st August, this final week and weekend is sure to be abuzz with art-hungry stragglers. More details here.
