Do you care deeply about the cultural life of your city, from dumpling bars to secret hikes, wearable tech to new precincts? Do you know what seasonality is, enjoy a good Chardonnay, and get down with a burger from Big J's? Do you love crafting compelling digital content that delivers a story worth spending time with? Are you always first to know about new openings, arts programs or new boutiques around town? Are you an open-minded, opinionated critic of new restaurants, films or plays? Do you love the great outdoors and pointing people to the best bits of it? Have you noticed the irritating amount of question marks in this paragraph?

Concrete Playground is currently seeking skilled, experienced online contributors, journalists, photographers, videographers and cultural connoisseurs to join its Auckland team. If you answered in the affirmative to a sizeable chunk of the above, you may just be the person we're looking for.

What we're looking for:

Experienced contributors who are keen to create intelligent, engaging content for Concrete Playground. Journalists who want to write news, features, reviews, profiles, and/or event previews, and photographers and videographers who are looking to showcase their city with galleries, videos, portraits and news images. Contributors will be paid per submission.

You will need to bring in those talented hands of yours the following:

- Excellent, original writing, photography or video skills

- A love of and engagement with Auckland's cultural life

- Sound ability to meet deadline with accurate details and thorough primary research — beyond press releases

- A tendency to pitch more ideas than you can write/shoot
