Release Date and Cast Revealed for N.W.A Biopic

After being stuck in development for years, Dr. Dre has revealed the release date and the cast for the N.W.A. biopic, 'Straight Outta Compton'.

Ice Cube will be played by his son O’Shea Jackson Jr., who himself has a rap career under the monikers OMG and the simply titled - Young Ice Cube. Actors Marcus Callender and Jason Mitchell will make the rest of the core cast - Dre and Eazy-E. Shooting is scheduled to begin in two months with a tentative release date of August 14, 2015. US film maker F. Gary Gray will be at the director’s helm. He has previously directed 'Friday' starring Ice Cube as well as music videos for Cypress Hill, Outkast and Jay Z.

The film will tell the story of the Compton-based rap group who are often regarded as the most important group in the history of rap music. Their first album Straight Outta Compton included songs like, 'Fuck Tha Police' and 'Gangsta Gangsta' and 'Straight Outta Compton'.
