Appropriately released in time for the peak season out on the water, eco-drama The Catch is here to tackle the world-wide issue of overfishing in our oceans. It aims to create conversation around how we can work to tackle this global problem.

Directed by Simon Mark-Brown, The Catch tells the story of mates Brian (Nicol Munro) and Wiremu (Tainui Tukiwaho) who can't believe their luck when a dream snapper falls into their hands days before a fishing contest. The film is based on a true story and is a heart-warming story about friendship, trust, morals and the triumph of good over evil— all set against the backdrop of ecological frailty and told with wry humour.
