If your favourite way to spend a quiet weekend involves being wrapped in a blanket cocoon with a season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Below Deck or The Real Housewives, here's a good-enough reason to do just that: all-reality TV streaming service Hayu has launched in New Zealand.

Joining the ever-growing list of online platforms available in Aotearoa, subscription video on-demand service Hayu is essentially Netflix but purely for reality TV. The service is part of NBCUniversal International, and pulls from its massive back catalogue of content to offer full 'box sets' of thousands episodes of shows such as the Kardashians, the Housewives franchise, Made in Chelsea and other unscripted series. It comes to NZ after launching in Australia in 2016.

Also on the list of 300-plus series and 10,000-plus episodes: Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Nikki Bella Says I Do, House of Villains, Celebrity Game Face, The Rachel Zoe Project and Very Cavallari, with the service spanning both new and classic reality fare. Where something is still airing, most new episodes will be available on the same day as their US release. And for retro titles, expect to get bingeing ASAP.

You'll also be able to dive into various subgenres of unscripted shows, including true crime, home and design, cooking, fashion and dating; cue The Real Murders of Atlanta and Homicide for the Holidays, for instance.

Some series, such as the aforementioned Made in Chelsea, The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, are only available in NZ via Hayu.

Binge watchers of reality TV will be ecstatic (if not just secretly) about this news, with monthly prices starting at $8.99 and annual subscriptions from $79.99. Hayu also does seven-day trials, and is offering 50-percent off 12-month subscriptions until Monday, October 23.

Hayu launched in New Zealand on Thursday, October 5. For more info, visit hayu.com.
