Overview
The word "unprecedented" has been thrown around a lot in the last couple of years, but in a surprise we didn't see coming, it also applied to January's St Jerome's Laneway Festival when tickets went on sale earlier this month. Thanks to a stacked lineup of acts like HAIM, Phoebe Bridgers and Fred again, the festival's Auckland comeback saw a scramble for tickets that led to the quickest 90-minute sell-out in history.
If you missed out, you're about to get another shot — the festival is moving to a new venue and subsequently opening up sales again. Organisers announced this morning that Laneway is shifting from its Albert Park home across town to Western Springs. Don't worry if you've booked flights and accom, it's going ahead on the same date: Auckland Anniversary Day on Monday, January 30.
This means if you missed out on tickets the first time around you can have another go at getting your mitts on one— a new pre-sale at 9am on Wednesday, October 26 will be available for anyone who missed out and was registered for the original pre-sale.
General public tickets go on sale Thursday 27 October at 9am.
Yes, it's sad news for those of us who adored Albert Park, the home of Laneway since 2017, thanks to its abundance of shade and stages on Princes Street and the Thunderdome down Alfred Street. But considering it's the first Laneway since 2020, we're just stoked to have one at all.
New addition The Jungle Giants will be joining the aforementioned stars. Also on the bill: Finneas, Fontaines DC, Joji..., Girl in Red, slowthai and Turnstile, as well as 100 Gecs, Chaos in the CBD, Knucks and Mallrat. Yes, the lineup goes on from there — to check out the full list, head over here.
St Jerome's Laneway Festival will now be taking place at Western Springs on Monday, January 30. Pre-sale available for Laneway subscribers and anyone registered for the original pre-sale who missed out will be available on Wednesday 26 October at 9am.
