Overview

Things are heating up in the R&V and R&A camp after news that London-based synth-pop group Bastille will make their first trip to New Zealand, for both the Gisborne-based festival, and it's southern sibling Rhythm and Alps.

The four-piece electronic act are best known for their fourth single ‘Pompeii’, which charted in the top ten in 18 countries and went on to become the second most streamed track of 2013, just behind Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’. Their accompanying debut album Bad Blood entered the number one spot in the UK charts and subsequently achieved platinum status and gained the band four nominations at the BRIT Awards.

After a decent start to the year on the festival bandwagon, including appearances at Coachella and The Governors Ball in New York, the band will make their way down under for a flurry of dates.

Bastille is the first act to be announced for Rhythm and Vines and Rhythm and Alps 2014.
