For those of you living under a social media rock, our own breakout kiwi artist Lorde's been taking over the world, like she said she would in her songs. Most recently, she's been nominated for four (yeah, four) awards at the 56th annual Grammy Awards ceremony: Record of the Year (Pure Heroine), Song of the Year ("Royals"), Best Pop Vocal Album (Pure Heroine) and Best Pop Solo Performance ("Royals").

However, due to a tight time frame between the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and her scheduled performance at the 2014 Auckland Laneway Festival, Lorde's pulled the pin on performing at the Festival.

Not one to leave her fans in the lurch however, Lorde's now scheduled a standalone performance at the festival site at Silo Park on Wednesday the 29th of January, 2014. The Laneway Festival itself is an R18 gig, but Lorde's show will be all-ages (presumably to accommodate her peers attending the show).

The event will be free of charge for all Laneway ticket holders who purchased their tickets before 5pm on Wednesday the 8th of January. Tickets to the Lorde show will go on-sale at 12pm on Thursday the 9th of January, 2014 from auckland.lanewayfestival.com.au
