Overview

Instead of having to scoff down your creme brûlée and rush off to that impending gig, Britomart’s Ostro are bringing the entertainment table-side for a full-blown dining experience.

Every second Sunday of the month from June to September, the establishment are inviting a selection of top local musicians to perform intimate concerts while you dine. Matter-of-factly named 'Dinner and a Show', each event will be split into two halves. The waterfront perched Ostro Brasserie will set the scene for dinner and the first set, before the second round takes place across the other side of the building in the more relaxed City Terrace.

MasterChef judge and Michelin-starred chef Josh Emett will work his magic in the kitchen, putting together a three-course menu for each event, and one of the dishes will be co-designed by the performer of the night. It’s not the first time Emett has dabbled with those behind the microphone; only last year he riffed it up in the kitchen with seven-piece roots band Fat Freddy’s Drop, and turned the dining room into a modern-day speakeasy with a selection of local jazz acts.

Performers providing the dining soundtrack and their culinary skills in this instance include: soul singer Hollie Smith (Sunday June 14), Black Seeds’ frontman Barnaby Weir and friends (Sunday July 12), renowned saxophonist and jazz maestro Nathan Haines (Sunday August 9), and The Peter Urlich Swingin’ Duet (Sunday September 13).

Tickets for the whole package are $150, while the City Terrace show will set you back $25. Make a reservation via the Seafarers website.
