It was Thursday lunch and I was by myself. But it was a sunny day and I sat outside on the deck, looking out to the ocean, the smell of salt and underage girls on school holiday wafting through my nostrils. What with a Heineken in my hand waiting for a burrito to be served in front of me, it was very close to what I imagine heaven to be like.

It is mad fun, imagine salsa dancing and plenty of margaritas. Good stuff. Chimmy-changas (deep fried burrito) are excellent too.

The Viaduct store is an amazing location. There is a great area for sitting outside with a direct view of the party central/cloud thing. The place was busy at lunch without being packed and hummed nicely. It’s an eat and run sort of place but only if you want it to be – they sell buckets of Corona and you don’t feel like you have to leave straight away, but I always do. It is a welcoming environment and the place is fitted out nicely.

Would I eat there again? With so many fine Mexican retailers in this fair city of ours, I can’t see myself rushing back. Everything was fine, and nice, but as I thought before heading in it just lacked balls. And I didn’t come for nice.
