Overview
Occupying the site of the former Columbus Coffee and situated in an old chapel, A'meza is the latest addition to Dominion Road. And a very welcome addition it is. In the midst of a whole host of dumpling and noodle houses, A'meza is elegant, classy, bright and spacious.
The high ceilings of the old chapel really accentuate the space and the tables are spaced far enough apart that you aren't listening to other diner's conversations. Owners and chefs Wilfred Laysico and Leah Escondo from the Philippines are elevating Southeast Asian cuisine to a new level.
Don't leave without sampling the smoked cod bites, piping hot and deliciously creamy morsels of heaven. Also the prawn beignet which was something we'd never tried before but certainly would go back for.
From the large plates section, we sampled the seared beef fillet which melted in the mouth and the confit duck breast served with sambal, bamboo and matcha rice. We couldn't leave without ordering the chocolate pave for dessert – rich, decadent and just the right amount of sweetness.
A'meza is a much needed breath of fresh air to the Dominion Road area.
