A chic and sexy new underground cocktail bar has just opened ready to welcome late-night revellers — and it's in a spot you might not expect. In the space that used to house Velvet Bar below the viaduct hotspot Danny Doolans, The Cellar is a newly fitted-out late-night venue ready to cater to your dancing and cocktail needs.

Taking inspiration from its extremely Irish upstairs sibling, The Cellar has a brick and wooden interior — but with a contemporary twist thanks to glowing red neon signs and living walls. If you've also been complaining there's nowhere good to dance in the CBD anymore this is what you've been waiting for. From 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights, in-house DJs will be on the decks ready to bring the vibes until the wee hours.

Feeling thirsty? We thought so. Luckily there is a stacked beer wine and cocktail list ready to help you keep the party going. The house speciality is a chilli margarita, made with a chilli-infused sugar syrup to spice things up. If your energy is dipping, opt for one of the house espresso martinis. Then grab an Insta-worthy selfie under the 'Shut up and Kiss me' neon sign, or cosy up on one of the couches to observe the partiers.
