Overview
Formerly home to recycled clothing boutique Tattys (now at #163), the iconic lime green building at 159 Ponsonby Road has been given a fresh lick of white paint and slick refurb to welcome its new tenants. Good Company is the newest addition to the Barkers family and serves as a multi-purpose retail environment, housing the menswear brand, a barbershop and café all under one roof.
The century-old villa has been reworked by Taylor design director Adrian Nancekivell to accommodate the three individual businesses. The format of the retail store is apparently a first for the Barkers brand; the 'Guide Shop' is a place where customers can browse and test the range and have purchases delivered the following day.
Once you've picked out a pair of chinos, the Groom Room is a classic barbershop that offers haircuts and cut throat shaves to complete your makeover.
Toast and coffee is the order of the day at onsite café, Archie. Owned by the folks next door at bar and eatery Mr Toms and Sam Harvey of Atomic Coffee, the space is purposed for locals and shoppers on-the-go. 'Tasty Toast' can be ordered on either toast or bagels with toppings like: salmon with creme fraiche and capers, smashed avo with feta and mint and pastrami with pickle and raclette cheese. Pair that with coffee from Atomic, Noble & Savage tea, cold pressed juice or a smoothie.
