On-demand car service UBER has only been in Auckland a few odd months, and now the transportation game changers have stepped it up yet another notch by delivering ice cream to users at the push of a button.

Anyone in the city can open the mobile app, choose the 'Ice Cream' option and place an order for Giapo Gelato (recently voted one of the best ice cream stores in the world). If an UBER ice cream truck is nearby, the ice cold treat will be dropped off within minutes and it will be billed to your UBER account (at $20 for 2x tubs of premium Giapo Gelato). UBER will be running the initiative in 144 cities around the world, of which Auckland will be the first to experience it.

New users who download the app and enter the promotion code ICECREAMAKL will get $20 off their first ride (or ice cream delivery.) Essentially free ice cream for new users.

And of course, all new subscribers to Concrete Playground also gain access to a code which gives them a free ride on UBER up to the value of $50. To subscribe, click here.
