Overview

Countless artists throughout the ages have begun and begin their day with coffee. It's unsurprising, given that (when drunk responsibly) coffee is a drug with salutary effects; it aids focus, keeps sleepiness at bay and hits the refresh button on creativity.

For the last five years, Allpress Studio has maintained the connection between art and coffee with its exhibition space in Freemans Bay. To celebrate this milestone, people can come for the art, stay for the coffee (or vice versa) at the Studio's 100 Artists exhibition, running for a little over one month (1 August to 14 September). The space will also be playing host to works by 35 artists as well as an array of community events and talks.

To honour the 100 artists that have exhibited since Allpress Studio opened, it has also created a limited-edition coffee blend. Featuring beans of Colombia, Peru and Ethiopian origin, it promises to be every bit as rich and dynamic as the artists who have shaped the gallery. To keep up to date, check out the event page.
