Overview

2011 is a dance triple-bill that features new work from the acclaimed Maria Dubrowska and German choreographer Riki Von Falken as well as a re-worked piece by Fleur de Thier presented by the vibrant Southern Lights Dance Company in association with STAMP at THE EDGE.

Maria Dubrowska is one of New Zealand’s most versatile freelance dancer/choreographers. She was a founding member of the Graduate Dance Company and has choreographed for the internationally acclaimed World of Wearable Arts.

Berlin dancer and choreographer Riki von Falken has an extensive repertoire of solo and group dance work, her most recent, The Geometry of Separation, premiered in May 2009 at Radialsystem V in Berlin.

Fleur de Thier danced for several well known choreographers before setting up Christchurch company, Scrambled Legs.  For Auckland audiences she reworks a new version of Perch, which premiered at the 2009 Body Festival.

Southern Lights Dance Company's Auckland premiere features the outstanding talent of dancers Hannah Tasker PolandJulia Milsom,Erica ViedmaAleasha Seaward and Andrew Miller.

Following the 6pm show of 2011 at 7.30pm there will be a forum discussion which all audience members are welcome to attend. The forum will last approximately half an hour.
