Overview

New Zealanders are big fans of putting their creative talents under the pump; the 48 Hour Film Festival being one of the more obvious examples.

The 24 Hour Zine Making Challenge is a similar innovative challenge, though highlighting a more 'hands on' discipline and in a non-competitive environment. As the title may suggest, its zine making on speed. Attendees are given a full day to hand craft a 24-page zine (otherwise known as a self-published and circulated magazine) as they choose. All materials and guidance are provided to help zine-sters complete the task.

Copies of each completed zine will have the opportunity to be included in Auckland Central Library's zine collection, as well as being showcased at Auckland Zinefest 2015 and be eligible for Auckland Zinefest's Best of the Fest award. The best part is that participation is free and all skills levels are welcome.
