Overview

One of the highlights on the art calendar for many is the annual Wallace Art Awards at the Pah Homestead.

The awards are the largest annual, and longest standing, art awards of their kind in the country and aim to support, promote and expose New Zealand contemporary art and artists.

Each of the five major winners of the awards are offered residencies at top-class international institutions in the categories of contemporary painting, sculpture, video, drawing and unique photography and print.

The event is ticketed, but if that's not really your thing, the salon is open the following day, so you can check out the award-winning work in the flesh.
