Need to drift away from real life on a cloud of dance beats and beverages? Then we've got the gig for you.
Auckland musician A.C. Freazy (real name: Alex Freer) debuted his floaty new single 'Only One' last week. The new release has been described as, "a love song contorted by mental health." To celebrate he'll be taking to the stage at Vulcan Lane's Cassette Number 9. Pairing synth pop tunes with earnest lyrics, the singer/producer/drummer extraordinaire is bound to bring a little magic to your weekend.
In support will be dance duo Imugi. The pair layers smooth, heartfelt lyrics over sharp electronic pop beats. The night also promises a set from DJ Marjorie Sinclair.
Cassette Number 9 provides an intimate venue where gig goers can get close to the musicians. There's also the choice to either partake in cutting some shapes on the dance floor or watch the show from the comfort of a booth (if you score one quick enough).
