Overview

For one night only, Sydney's Alternative Symphony is set to play Daft Punk's greatest hits, with an orchestral spin. They're bringing together a full orchestra, assisted by DJs, drums, live vocalists and MCs. As with all electro events, expect immersive visuals and an elaborate light show.

Daft Punk is seen as one of the most influential modern electronica acts, due to their unique sound and visual style combining ornate helmets and gloves to create robot personas. The French duo has released five studio albums, with the most recent, Random Access Memories, featuring guest appearances from Pharrell Williams, Niles Rodgers and Giorgio Moroder and winning Album and Record of the Year at the Grammys.

Alternative Symphony last played in Auckland in August when they performed an orchestral take on Dr. Dre's 2001 album. Hot from performing the Daft Punk Orchestral Rendition show in the UK, the collective is taking it back to Australia in September, before heading to Auckland in January 2020. The location is still to be confirmed. Register your interest on the Facebook event and you could be in with a chance to win tickets. This will be a unique dance/classical cross-over night out.
