Overview

Western Springs' beloved museum of transportation and technology hasn't caught the love bug this year. MOTAT, of all places, is hosting an event for those just not that into the idea of Valentine's Day. On Friday, February 14, the museum is inviting Aucklanders to "escape the cheese and sentimental $#@%" for an anti-Valentine's night full of light-hearted fun and entertainment.

Visitors are invited to explore the museum grounds which will be scattered with food stands, bars, activations and a main stage performance area. A variety of entertainment, activities, and general shenanigans will feature, from silent discos and karaoke to archery, jousting and love police.

It doesn't matter whether you're single, in a relationship, or going through a complicated patch, MOTAT welcomes everyone to come and not celebrate the annual commercially driven day of romance. The event is restricted to those 18 and above.
