Aotearoa Art Fair 2022
Auckland's huge annual art showcase is coming back to The Cloud this spring.
Overview
Whether you're in the market to buy some art or you just want to admire what talented humans can achieve, you won't want to miss the grand return of the Aotearoa Art Fair this November.
Formerly the Auckland Art Fair, the hotly-anticipated event had to pivot to distanced and online options over the last two years — but now it's back and better than ever.
The contemporary art showcase will return on Wednesday, November 16 — Sunday, November 20 to The Cloud on Auckland's Queens Wharf. Visitors can browse works from more than 180 artists, exhibited by more than 40 leading art galleries across New Zeland and Australia. Whether you're interested in painting, photography, sculpture, moving images, ceramics, drawing or performance, Auckland Art Fair has something for everyone.
You can get creative yourself with a Kahoa (Tongan flower garland) making workshop with artist Sione Monu, or check out the Squiggla Making Space to hear artists talk about their work. If you're keen to soak up art in the sunshine, chill out in the new outdoor sculpture park overlooking Waitemata Harbour.
While you are there, enjoy the great food and drink offerings from Dusty Apron and Passa Passa. On Wednesday and Friday night, the Oyster Inn will be shucking fresh oysters and Cazador will be popping up with charcuterie platters — all to be enjoyed alongside the Perrier-Jouët Champagne, Seresin Estate wines, and cocktails by Scapegrace.
