Art After Hours: Guerrilla Girls
Enjoy an evening of culture, entertainment, food and fantastic art.
Overview
If you're looking to inject some culture into your next night out then Auckland Art Gallery's Art After Hours is for you. A completely one-off and unique evening affair, explore food, drinks, art and entertainment inspired by Guerrilla Girls: Reinventing the 'F' Word – Feminism!.
An anonymous collective of feminist activist artists, the Guerrilla Girls are dedicated to exposing discrimination in film, politics, the music industry and the art world. It was formed as a collective over 30 years ago with defining features such as their gorilla-mask costumes, bold visual messages with a direct sense of humour. All of this has given the Guerrilla Girls an iconic spot in both the history of art and winder social movements.
Explore the exhibition while you indulge in delicious eats and sweet treats from Lalele Organic Gelato and sip on cocktails from the on-site bar.
Also on the lineup: DJ Half Queen, storytelling with comedian Angella Dravid, a panel discussion about inclusivity and the visibility of women in New Zealand visual arts, a BYO vinyl session featuring women musicians, badge making and 10-minute portraits.
Art After Hours tickets includes entry to the ticketed exhibition and all current Gallery exhibitions.
