Art in the Dark

Come out and see Auckland shine at Art in the Dark 2012. From 8pm till midnight on Friday and Saturday night, Ponsonby's Western Park will be transformed into an illuminated wonderland of weird and wonderful creations.

Art in the Dark is an annual event which provides us with a unique gallery beneath the stars and an opportunity to see art in a whole new light. Art works of all types are represented—film, performance, sculpture and installations from Auckland's most innovative artists. Artists are challenged to create pieces which use clean, eco-friendly energy and materials where possible.

Art in the Dark is an opportunity for both established and emerging artists to realise their bright ideas and for the community to engage in the art world in the comfort of their own back yard. It's an event for all ages, which is as surprising as it is delightful, and it always lives up to expectations.
