Auckland Fried Chicken Festival
The fried chicken gathering will take place next month.
Overview
Rumours of a fried chicken festival took social media by storm last year, with nothing but a Facebook event to show for it in the end. Fans of delicious, succulent chicken now have something solid to look forward to as the Auckland Food Truck Collective and La Cigale are set to host the city's first ever fried chicken gathering.
Auckland Fried Chicken Festival will take place at the Parnell French market on 12 July with some of Auckland's finest food trucks coming together with chicken-inspired menus. Some will specialise in fried chicken while others will change up their menus to incorporate the theme of the night. Vendors already signed up include Nashville-style chicken truck Peach's Hot Chicken, hand-rolled sushi stall Temaki Truck, European chippery Double Dutch Fries, contemporary Chinese eatery Judge Bao, Bacon Bros and plant-based burger joint Wise Boys Burgers.
La Cigale will also be putting its twist on classic New Orleans dishes. Think jambalaya, po' boys, and beignets. All this plus a licensed bar, indoor seating, heaters and live music.
