Overview

Auckland Zinefest is an annual event celebrating all that is zine culture and creativity. Zinefest runs for over a week in August, with the Zinefest Market day on Saturday, August 29 at the Pitt Street Methodist Church and will hold over 60 zine makers and artists who will be showcasing and selling a variety of creative knickknacks. The market day runs from midday and entry is free but make sure you bring some cold hard cash if you see something you like and to support your local zine community.

Just in case you’re not up with the play, a zine (abbreviation of the word magazine) is a small, unique, handcrafted and self-published piece of work, which you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Apart from said zines, the day will also play host to creative workshops and discussions around typography, print and zine-making which anyone and everyone is welcome to participate in. Have a squiz at the Zinefest website to see what else is going on during the week, including the opening party then pop along to soak up some magnificent Zinefest festivities.
