Overview

If anyone was going to hold an annual knees-up to celebrate new bottles of wine hitting the shelves, it's the French. Every year on the third Thursday of November, France goes gaga over the release of Beaujolais Nouveau — a fruity red wine produced in the Beaujolais region in France. The annual drop of this vino sends the country into party mode.

Now this famous French tradition has made its way onto our shores, with Auckland hosting its very own Beaujolais Nouveau celebration this November.

On 21 November, the crew from Le Chef will be hosting a fabulously French street party in downtown Auckland, where you can be one of the first to taste the 2019 drop, fresh off the plane from France.

Dust off your high school French, don your best white or red threads, and party French style at this late-night fete in upper Vulcan Lane. Top notch French eats will be prepared by Le Chef, sommeliers will be on hand to share their wine wisdom, and musicians will be cranking the tunes.

If you fancy an mid-week injection of wine, cheese and joie de vivre, grab your tickets now for $19 a pop, which includes your festival entry and one glass of Beaujolais Nouveau.
