Bowie. Starman
The APO's star-dusted tribute to 'the man who fell to earth'.
Overview
A indisputable legend of the music industry and the king of reinvention, David Bowie is a name well-known. His impressive category consists of 27 studio albums, 9 live albums and 121 singles. Whether its through his outrageous creativity, bombastic flair, make-up, wigs, hit singles or different coloured eyes, Bowie's iconography is everywhere.
This year the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra celebrate the legacy of 'the man who fell to earth' by presenting his iconic songs in a beautiful orchestral composition. With such well-written and well-composed music, that itself should bring all the little Ziggys out of hiding. From 'Ziggy Stardust' to 'Space Oddity', 'Rebel Rebel' to 'Let's Dance'— all the classics will be there.
The music will be paired with the vocals of New Zealand music royalty: Jon Toogood (of Shihad fame), Anna Coddington, Julia Deans (Fur Patrol) and Laughton Kora (Kora)— rounding out the production of a stardust filled evening for anyone with an appreciation for real music.
