Overview

The Desperate Late Night Energy Tour is coming just at the right time to soothe your winter blues. In July, Boycrush will be performing its debut album, full of dreamy electro-pop dance music.

Boycrush is comprised of Auckland-based creative Alistair Deverick (producer, drummer and songwriter), and vocalists Carla Camilleri of Marbecks and Tom Young from Leisure. The album, also named Desperate Late Night Energy, was born in an environment that well suits its name: in a dungeness basement void of light, fueled by energy drinks. It speaks to the experience of loneliness at the end of a long night, "looking for someone to take home, consuming more than one might need, clinging to dying remains." Singles from the album include 'Song for Alex', an upbeat number with a heavy dose of ethereal synth pop.

The DLNE tour will take Boycrush to Whammy Bar on July 7, with performances in Dunedin at the end of June and Wellington in mid July.
