Stuck for an idea on what to do this New Year's Eve and left it too late to organise to head away? The Britomart Block Party might be just the ticket.

From 2pm on December 31, Britomart will be transformed into an urban concrete festival with the party split between venues: 1885, Britomart Country Club, Racket Bar, Orleans, Roukai Lane, and more to be announced.

The multi-venue party looks set to cater to everyone's musical tastes with a variety of Kiwi DJs on board to showcase a range of genres from electronic to hip hop to reggae and indie rock. Highlights from the lineup include Weird Together Sound System, Bailey Wiley, Laughton Kora, Eno X Dirty, Clicks and Che Fu.

The event has sold out three years in a row and with pre-sale already gone it looks set to sell out again. Get in quick to celebrate the dawning of another new year in your own back yard and better yet, avoid all that awful holiday traffic.
