Overview
We've all missed time spent listening to live music in the city this year, so now the weather is heating up, head down to Britomart's Takutai Square to soak up some rays and tunes from some of Auckland's talented up-and-coming musicians.
All through December, talent from the University of Auckland's School of Music will be setting up for showcases over lunchtimes from Wednesday to Sunday — as well as a few select evening performances, to really bring the vibes to your late-night Christmas shopping.
If you work in the CBD, take your lunch out onto the grass to relax alongside DJ Rose Alice, who'll be spinning chilled-out tunes for you to enjoy in the sunshine. Other local performers on the line-up include local singer-songwriter Lavender, indie-jazz musician Keeva and flute and clarinet duo Dual Motion.
If you're firmly a 'December is for Christmas carols' type, you'll want to head along for The Jazz Captains Auckland City Low Brass Quartet, who'll be playing Christmas classics to get you in the spirit.
Check out Heart of the City's website for the full line-up, and plan your next lunchbreak or Christmas shopping trip accordingly.
