Promising to delve deep into your emotional psyche like only dance and music can, Grey Lynn-based dancer-choreographer and movement therapist Jennifer De Leon presents her latest, and potentially most inspired work yet: Bugs and Worms and Desire.

Drawing the audience in to a tale of grit and determination, De Leon who is both respected and renowned for her compelling performances, begs the question— what does it take?

Foreshadowed cohesively by Swimmer, a work about 'being there', De Leon muddies the waters between sense and spirituality during three-night residency at the Basement Studio.

Herself having suffered a broken back, knee reconstruction and replacement of both hips, De Leon makes for an authentic guide, and while her story is less flash (more dance), it is by no means less compelling.

Thoughtful, careful and ethereal— Jennifer De Leon presents your consciousness on the Basement floor, and it is not to be missed.
