Overview

The Summer of Colour is all about bringing life to the Viaduct. Numerous events, entertainment and activities will be lining Auckland’s waterfront hotspot as summer comes to an end, and the Summer of Colour Night Tales will host our last summery evenings with boutique themed markets and free entertainment.

The first in a string of curated markets is the Oriental Market in celebration of the Chinese New Year. This year the celebration falls on February 19th. It is year of the goat, which is the eight sign of the twelve year zodiac cycle. This year’s celebration should be especially extravagant, since the goat is the sign of promise and prosperity – both of which we could all do with.

The Noodle Market will see the Viaduct transform into an Eastern utopia over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of February. Street food stalls will tempt customers with all of our favourite Asian flavours, including dumplings, thai, Vietnamese sandwiches and, of course, noodles galore.

Be entertained by the E-PAC Lion Dance team and the Beijing Opera while you chow down, and check out some of the cultural performances for an entertaining insight into the Asian arts.
