Overview

Rustic Italian restaurant and K' Road institution Coco's Cantina has been around for eight years now, serving up countless portions of meatballs and polenta chips with a neighbourly charm. To mark the milestone the restaurant is holding a week of birthday festivities.

Kicking things off on Monday 16 October will be a dinner party in partnership with local culture guide, Paperboy. As diners sit down for a three-course organic meal with matched Black Estate wine, hospo pros will take the floor to lead a fun conversation about food, dining and hospitality. Find out from Golden Dawn's Nick Harrison why the legendary bar is leaving us, ask Ima's Yael Shochat how she crafts the best falafel in town, quiz Michael Meredith about creating positive social change and buzz The French Café's Michelle Moore for secrets behind the five-star restaurant. The conversation will be hosted by Paperboy's Jeremy Hansen.

A night market will inhabit the private dining room on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be an onsite tattooist inking Coco's 'Be Kind' slogan, stalls hawking vintage and new clothes, nick-naks and jewellery and card readings. Dane Batts will round off the celebrations by spinning tunes on Thursday and Friday. There will happy hour specials and spot prizes all week.
