Overview

Taking the stage at Basement Theatre for two consecutive Wednesday nights is a clutch of local funny people taking a risk and branching out from friends, family, flatmates and work colleagues to test their material (or perhaps they've worn out their welcome). Comedy Lab puts comedians in front of new audiences, as they attempt to hone their jokes into a fast and furious set, fit for the stages of the NZ International Comedy Festival.

Hosted by Eli Matthewson, each Comedy Lab invites a handful of comedians to test new material in front of a live audience. Following each performance, a Q&A session will give each performer the chance to field feedback on the set - what's good, what's not, why did something work, or is a flatliner worth saving? If you're interested in the creative process of comedy, the inner-workings of what makes a great joke, or just keen to see some fresh talent, this is the show for you.

Check in with Facebook to see the line up of comedians each night. Comedy Lab starts at 8.30pm and runs for approximately 90 minutes, latecomers will not be admitted. Entry by koha.
