Overview
Every family has them. Those legendary stories about relatives far back on the family tree. They're the kind of stories that are retold time and time again but always a bit differently.
Conversations With Dead Relatives is a play that not only focuses on these stories, but also questions the challenging concept of who we are and how our ancestors shape us.
These stories encompass "clashes of ideals, moral dilemmas, epic adventures and romantic tales of love and hope". The ultimate question though, is it enough to just tell our ancestors' stories? Or are we obliged to do more to honour their memory?
Running at the Basement from April 3 to 7, Conversations With Dead Relatives is written and performed by Alex Ellis and Phil Ormsby, and directed by Jennifer Ward-Lealand.
