Overview

An annual festival celebrating the best little side street just off Karangahape Road is back for another year, presenting a stacked lineup of local talent. Cross Street's openair block party is back for its fifth round, ready round off the summer festival season.

Taking to the stage on Saturday, March 11 will be hip-hop artist Paul the Kid, multi-instrumentalist Proteins of Magic, four-piece band Dictaphone Blues, psychedelic rock band Makeshift Parachutes and more.

Between the raucous live entertainment, attendees can sample craft beer from Mcleod's and spirits from Scapegrace. There'll be an area lined with food trucks for nourishment, plus market stalls and walk-ins at Sunset Tattoo if you are tempted by some fresh ink on the day. This year there is a fresh carnival theme to festivities — magic, tarot readings, fire eaters and roaming performances are all on the bill.

Head along to support the local arts community — festivities kick off at 3pm on the day. Tickets are R18 and will set you back $93.50 (or take advantage of the three-for-two ticket deal if you're heading in with a group).
