Crushes' Auckland Clothes Swap

The warmer weather got you lamenting your lack of spring 'fits? Are you desperate to have a clear out of formerly loved threads? Ease your shopping guilt by having another person's trash become your treasure – a giant clothes swap is coming to Auckland courtesy of K' Road boutique Crushes.

Taking place on the Wilson rooftop carpark in Mercury Lane on Saturday, Auckland 15, the Auckland Clothes Swap is a chance to give new life to clothes you no longer wear – while getting your mitts on some new (to you) clothes.

Choose up to 10 high-quality items in good condition to bring along and you'll be able to leave with up to 10. But remember, only bring clothes you'd be happy to leave with yourself — give your fellow Auckland fashionistas a fighting chance. That means leaving old ripped camis and stained loungewear behind – it's all about elevating the pieces that deserve to be seen. There will be people checking the quality, so don't be stingy.

Be aware there won't be changing rooms, so come in an outfit you can easily throw things over if you're keen to try on – bike shorts and lycra might be the vibe.

In addition, there will be food vendors and market stalls to really turn it into a party – bring cash along for those. And leave the plastic bags at home – this is a plastic-free event so bring a tote or two for taking home your treasures.

Things kick off at 11am, when the clothes swap volunteers will start to prowess the clothing. Bring your bits in, then go enjoy the food vendors, markets and Karangahape Road. You'll need your energy for the actual swapping period, which will start at 1pm and go to 2.30pm.
