Overview
You’d think with a real name like Alfred Darlington and a background in jazz double bass, that the musician known as Daedelus would be a béret-wearing beatnik that plays in only the smokiest of jazz clubs. It couldn’t be any different.
The Los Angeles based producer is an inventor of sorts, creating an eclectic range of electronic sonic labyrinths, ranging from intense to mellow and danceable to introspective. Self-described as the ‘founding father of the L.A. beat scene’, he is a part of the group Adventure Time and lo-fi folk band The Long Lost with his wife. He is also affiliated with the future roots radio station Dublab.
He has over two-dozen releases on a variety of labels and has performed shows for audiences on five continents, everywhere from Iceland to Istanbul. Having last played in New Zealand as part of Red Bull Sound Select, the complex musician will grace our shores for two headline shows. Support from The Drum Runners, Addison Chase and Hu$tle Profits.
