Overview

If there's anyone that knows how to condition the human body it's the New Zealand Dance Company. In addition to their usual program of events, including Michael Parmenter's upcoming dance opera OrphEus, the company is preparing to share its wealth of stretching and toning knowledge with a new lunchtime fitness class in the CBD.

Dance, Core & More will be taught by Susan Trainor — a former Limbs Dance Company member, Les Mills Programme Director and overall dance and fitness extraordinaire. Susan says that participants can expect a combination of bodyweight exercises to strengthen the upper body and core muscles, and ballet-style movement to work the legs and feet. Absolutely no previous ballet experience is required. There will also be a focus on the back and glutes and some low impact cardio.

The class will run at the company's Wellesley Studios every Tuesday from February 27, 12.40-1.20pm.
