Overview

With head chef Tom Hishon out of the building for a cooking class, this Wednesday the dining room of Ponsonby's Orphans Kitchen will become an educational nerve centre for those eager to learn more about the complexities of wine.

The two-hour event will be run by Mama Sonja who has over 40 years of experience curating wine lists for restaurants around the world. She is currently the wine buyer and educator for Auckland's Blue Breeze Inn, Woodpecker Hill and Moochowchow.

The evening of wine education will include the sniffing, swirling and tasting of 12 great wines as well as matching finger foods to soak up all that goodness.
