Overview

The Devonport Arts Festival has been a crowd favourite for years. Since 1950, it has been enticing locals and visitors to gather together and celebrate all modes of art.

On April 5-7, the already urban art village will be overflowing with talent. Including writers, potters, painters, musicians, vocalists, illustrators, performers and poets. The event starts on April 5 at 12-9pm, and runs through April 6, 10-5pm. Then April 7 10-12pm at Flagstaff Gallery, Devonport.

Not only will it be a chance to meet incredible artists, but also to try your hand at another medium. Kids art making, sketching classes, varieties of workshops — Devonport Arts Festival has something for everyone. Exhibitions will be presented daily, with a chance to chat to the artists responsible. Conversations with authors such as David Slack and an exhibition of seven women with live painting by Janet Mazenier is open daily.

The village of Devonport opens up its streets and alley ways for an array of art by some of Auckland's fantastic artists. All ages are welcome and admission is free.
