What makes us really excited for Earthquakes In London is that it's written by fellow named Mike Bartlett. His name probably doesn't ring a bell, but it carries considerable weight. He's a play and screenwriting veteran with over 15 years experience who recently penned the wildly entertaining Dr Foster — one of the best shows on Kiwi TV right now. It certainly doesn't hurt that the play debuted to rave reviews in London or that it's playing in one of Auckland's most intimate live venues, Basement Theatre.

Earthquakes In London is a story of love, life and struggle in modern day London. This twisting tale looks back to the past and far into a dark future, with a backdrop of unease about global warming. The UK Telegraph called it "brilliantly inventive," "adrenaline fuelled," and "the theatrical equivalent of riding a roller coaster," so you're guaranteed a good ride if you go along.

Directed by Katy Maudlin. Presented by The Actors' Program and Last Tapes Theatre Company.
