Electric Wire Hustle make a welcome return with Aeons EP, the duo's first release since 2014’s critically acclaimed LP Love Can Prevail. The five-track record, set for release on 28 August, gets a warm up spin this Thursday night when Electric Wire Hustle Sound System take over Ponsonby Social Club to celebrate its launch.

Mara TK and David Wright’s blend of R&B, electronica and soul has won over DJs, critics and audiences the world over. Rave reviews and radio support have followed, as well as invitations to perform on the stages of Sonar, SXSW and Glastonbury. Local top shelf distillery Rogue Society Gin even tapped the boys to experiment on the world’s first music-infused gin.

The duo are clearly not short on inspiration, with Mara TK hinting at the contents of Aeons EP explaining “There's a song about an android who commits suicide, a song about a girl named Truth who evades the law while trying to find God, and a song about playing a concert for gang members. Some of these stories are true”. Their first single, ‘Brother Sun’, features guest vocals by Kimbra - and if that song is representative of the EP as a whole, five tracks simply won’t be enough.
