Overview

Strike is about to get your feet tapping and head bopping to the rhythms of the beat with their high energy percussionists stage show – Elemental – for the first time in Auckland.

Element explores New Zealand’s natural rhythms and environment. Strike incorporate pacific, classical and contemporary musical influences, with movement and theatrical prowess in this production.

Using custom built hydrophones, pyrophones, dippophones, Bedford trucks, and traditional percussion instruments, even your regular old drums – you name it, strike will hit it.

Since their inception in 1993, Strike is made up of New Zealand’s most outstanding percussionists and is in heavy demand as performers having toured nationally and internationally. Recent shows include appearances at the Taiwan International Percussion Festival and with Hayley Westenra at the 2011 Rugby World Cup Final.

Be prepared for water and fire, literally.
